Pastor Kuot Ngor’s life is a testimony of resilience, redemption, and unwavering faith. Born and raised in the midst of civil war in South Sudan, Kuot spent his childhood surrounded by conflict, eventually joining the rebellion army at just sixteen. After losing many of his closest friends to the war, he sought a new life and found Christ in Kenya — a turning point that transformed his future forever.

Arriving in the United States as a refugee in 1995, Kuot faced years of hardship, isolation, and personal struggle. His journey led him to the U.S. Army, where he served in Baghdad in 2007, returning home spiritually broken and searching for purpose. That purpose came when he joined Gladstone Community Church, where his testimony moved church leaders to commission him as a pastor.

In 2012, Kuot returned to South Sudan to visit his parents and witnessed the deep suffering of his people — children without schools, families trapped in poverty, communities bound by ancestral worship, and widespread spiritual darkness. His first convert was his own father. Soon after, he began preaching under a tree with two people… then three… then five hundred. Today, African Hope Mission has grown to more than 3,000 members across 16 churches.

God gave Pastor Kuot a vision: to reach 1 million souls from the Dinka Tribe with the Gospel and to build communities that can thrive through education, churches, farming, and clinics. He now divides his time between Kansas City and South Sudan, serving both the Department of Veteran Affairs and Gladstone Community Church while continuing his mission work abroad — even returning to serve in the South Sudan military to protect and support the communities he ministers to.

African Hope Mission exists to bring the light of Jesus Christ to the Dinka people of South Sudan by building churches, educating children, empowering widows, and providing life‑saving care. A strong church is the heart of every community we serve. What began under a tree with two people has grown into more than 3,000 members across 16 churches — yet only two have permanent buildings. African Hope Mission is working to build safe, durable worship centers where families can gather, learn, and find spiritual refuge. Each church becomes a place of hope, discipleship, and transformation for the Dinka people.

Malaria and preventable diseases continue to claim lives across South Sudan — including 38 deaths in a single year within our communities. African Hope Mission is working to establish clinics that provide essential medical care, malaria treatment, and emergency support for children and families. These clinics will save lives, reduce suffering, and bring healing to communities that have never had access to medical services.

African Hope Mission is committed to giving every child in South Sudan the chance to learn, pray, and build a future filled with hope. Many children are orphaned or raised by single mothers who cannot afford school fees or uniforms. Our Primary & Nursery School provides free access to education, clothing, and daily care — ensuring that even the most vulnerable children can read, write, and grow in faith. Education is the foundation for breaking generational poverty.

Food insecurity is a daily struggle in South Sudan, where most families rely on hand tools and small harvests. African Hope Mission has been granted 300 acres of fertile land to promote modern agriculture, create jobs for widows, and provide sustainable food for entire communities. With ox plows, water pumps, and farm machinery, we can turn this land into a life‑changing resource that feeds families and supports the mission long‑term.
